We at C&M Towers have been fretting, sweating and fussing over the new Quiz Masters sitcom which will be splurged all over the internet imminently, and to celebrate this, Peter and I will shortly be getting our noggins together for the first podcast of 2013. It’ll feature jingles from the likes of Joe Wilkinson and Martin Trenaman and plenty more besides.
And I know we said this about a year ago, but we’re doing the website up so it’ll look neat and tidy and different (not that it isn’t neat and tidy now). You’ll still be able to get it through iTunes and the website, and you’ll be able to hear Quiz Masters through it too, but you’ll also be able to listen via Soundcloud, YouTube and direct download. Just making it easier, y’all. Ironically, I myself am currently doing my crazy nut, working out how I built this site in the first place and backward engineering it into its new shape – but it’s coming, I feel it in my iBones!
And so the pull cord twangs as the curtain of time is tugged reluctantly into place (after realising you’ve been pulling the wrong way and accumulated a glut of slackened curtain cord), drawing to a close this most momentous year. We’ve had an astonishing Olympic summer in which even those most hardily opposed to sport got into the spirit of the Games; another bonza time up in Edinburgh for the Festival; a podcast from the States; our first podcast interviews; and a load of lovely contributions from some of our favourite performers and funnyfolk including Bec Hill, Silky, Sean Lock and Sheeps.
And as if that isn’t enough, there are two cresting waves just waiting to break in the New Podcast Year, and they be:
A bevvy of three guest links, including something special for fans of both The Inbetweeners and Him And Her.
Our brand new sitcom Quiz Masters which begins in January. In fact, we’re recording the second two episodes shortly! Watch this space for further release details.
So until then, while there’s still time to reflect on what you’ve done (in a nostalgic way, not a “what a bad little boy/girl/boy-girl you’ve been!” way) and still time to resolve what resolutions you don’t intend to keep for the next 72 hours, let us say a hearty Happy New Year to all our subscribers and a big, welcoming “hello” to all those newbies who they’ll tell about the podcast in 2013! Happynooyear!
Here at C&MTowers, we’re very excited to announce that we’ll shortly be launching our seminal jaunt into a full blown sitcom. Written by bright young thing Aidan McCaffery, “Quiz Masters” follows a group of five chums as they plot their incongruous paths through their tumultuous lives with one thing that unites them – their attendance every week for the pub quiz at nobody’s favourite pub, The Molested Lamb. Proceedings are overseen by the beady eye (and hairy face) of “The Quiz Master” – don’t bother asking Mick his real name, he’ll never tell you.
Episode 1 will be out in early January, and you’ll be able to get it right from this site. With a bit of luck, we’ll have it launched through iTunes too, by Episode 2.
A Yuletide cracker packed with seasonal titbits, including ace stand-up Silky, a duo of festive sketches, brand new sitcom Quiz Masters, our trademark blend of banter and secret spices – plus added Sean Lock, and not a humbug in sight. Merry Christmas!
Benn and Pete set the milestone of a score of podcasts by chatting about jelly, cycling shorts, America and nudity. Plus some ace banter with the equally ace Bec Hill about puns and moths, and a tease for our forthcoming sitcom!
